Home Companion Website Transformation
Why Website Speed Matters
A slow website doesn’t just feel sluggish — it directly impacts how users behave and whether they trust your business.
- Over half of visitors (53%) abandon a site that takes more than 3 seconds to load (Google).
- A 0.1-second speed improvement can increase conversions by over 8% (Google/Deloitte).
- Google’s Core Web Vitals — LCP, CLS, and TBT — are now official search ranking factors.
Speed influences rankings, bounce rates, and customer trust, especially in industries like home healthcare where reliability matters.
Challenge: Poor Mobile Performance
Home Companion’s original WiX website was slow and bloated.
On mobile, it scored just 68 in Google’s PageSpeed Insights with an LCP of 9.2s — far beyond Google’s recommended threshold.
Solution:
We rebuilt the site using a streamlined, performance-first architecture. The new build achieves a perfect 100 mobile score with an LCP of 1.1s, placing it among the fastest home healthcare websites online.

Challenge: Excessive Technical Bloat
The original site suffered from:
- Heavy, unused JavaScript
- Legacy scripts sent to modern browsers
- Inefficient image handling
- Multiple unnecessary preconnects
- Too many network requests
All of this created long load times and poor user experience.
Solution:
We eliminated all redundant scripts, removed inefficiencies, and optimized every asset. The rebuild uses clean, modern code that loads instantly and avoids unnecessary processing on the user’s device.

Challenge: Bloated Network Requests
The old website made 146 network requests and transferred nearly 5MB of data — far too heavy for a simple brochure-style site.
Solution:
The rebuilt version loads in just 12 requests and transfers only 71KB, creating a dramatically faster, leaner experience for users.

Challenge: Console Errors & Code Issues
The previous build included warnings, fetch errors, and script failures that created instability and risked breaking key page components.
Solution:
We rebuilt the codebase cleanly, eliminating every error. The result is a stable, predictable experience with zero console issues.
